In this episode of 5 Business Rules, Monika and I discuss five ways in which you can boost your visibility on LinkedIn. Spend 5 minutes watching the video or read on for the tips.
Identify prospective clients
One thing you can do to increase visibility is find LinkedIn users that you’re interested in working with. Start tracking these users to see what they’re sharing and commenting on.
You can follow users without being connected to them, so first try interacting with potential clients. Once you’ve landed on someone’s radar, then is the time to make the connection.
Publish articles to LinkedIn
Another way to raise your visibility on LinkedIn is by publishing to the site natively. LinkedIn prioritizes articles that are published on their site.
Did you recently make a post to your blog? If so put it up on LinkedIn as well – sharing this post is a great way of staying on top of people’s minds and reminding them of your expertise.
Add videos or photos
Like Facebook, LinkedIn is a very visual platform. You will get a lot more engagement by posting videos and photos than you will from just sharing text.
Tag people and clients in comments and posts
When you tag someone on LinkedIn, this person will see your post and most likely respond, and the person’s network will see the post as well. If your post is awesome people may even share it.
Tagging is a great way to increase your reach. For example, if you’re working on a project with a client, try congratulating the client on the project’s launch.
Comment on trending topics
If you really want to get noticed on LinkedIn, one thing you can do is try initiating conversations. Show people you know what’s going on by sharing your opinions on trending topics.
Individuals in your network may decide to respond to your posts, so this is a great way to open up a line of communication with potential clients.
