Social Light is seeking a web developer to support a variety of small business websites. Though occasionally we have a small HTML project, the vast majority of websites will be built on WordPress.

You should to be comfortable enough with CSS, HTML and javascript to work with the wide variety of WordPress themes and customizations that our clients have.

Bonus points if you are able to work with APIs.

As a whole you will not have to interact directly with the client, and will work with a member of the Social Light team to plan and manage tasks.

We highly value individuals that can think on their feet and find solutions.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Customizing themes and building out websites per approved design – you don’t need to be a designer, but you do need to have the attention to detail to make the site match the designs provided.
  • Sourcing, installing and setup plugins to meet client requirements
  • Working within membership platforms
  • Optimizing sites for speed and performance
  • Ongoing Site Maintenance
  • Error troubleshooting

 

In a perfect world you will be familiar with SEO and understand how to optimize alt tags, implement schema and other elements to gain better search engine exposure. This is not a requirement, but a bonus so if you have this knowledge please tell us about it.

 

This is a remote position that will likely start around 10 hours a week with plenty of room to grow. Hours are flexible.

Spanish/English Copywriter

Social Light is growing and we’re looking for a new member of the team to grow with us. This position is a remote, part-time position with flexible hours. It will start out 5-10 hours per week but there’s room for growth.

Social Light is digital marketing agency that helps small business take a strategic approach to their online presence. That means we manage websites, social media, email marketing and SEO for a wide array of clients.

We’re looking for a creative writer, familiar with digital campaigns who can hit the ground running.

Specifically you’ll be writing:

  • Website copy
  • Blogs
  • Promotional copy for ads or sales pages
  • Email marketing newsletters
  • Drip campaigns
  • Social media posts
  • Spanish translations of any of the above materials

The goal is to create interesting and informative content to grab a reader’s attention and get them engaged, so please don’t be boring!

The majority of writing will be in English, but we’re in the midst of marketing to a Spanish-speak audience so fluency in English and Spanish is a requirement.

Bonus points if you have knowledge of writing for SEO.
